This quote is very fitting for Usugrows visit to Urchin. He took the time to absorb his surroundings and contemplate. It was immediately apparent to us from the balance of focussed intensity with effortless grace that we were in the presence of someone who had not only cultivated his mind but also his ability to express it with spirit and discipline.

Meatmother is officialy open for business. It's all about nurturing fresh smoked slabs of pork butt, ribs and cow brisket which is prepared daily with some tough love. All this tasty murder is accompanied by a mighty fine selection of American craft beers, bourbon and whisky cocktails. Alongside owners Neil and Nick we've been working with architect Matt Rawlins of Figure Ground to bring Meatmother to life with a selection of objects, furnishings, artwork and the overall identity....

Our catalan friend Marta Roca speaks funny. She is also the brainchild behind the online magazine Four&Sons, showcasing all things dogs and culture, without all the fluffy stuff. Four&Sons have just published their first broadsheet to celebrate the big one year anniversary and bring some of their online content onto some fine old school paper. We recommend sniffing out a copy and regardless its great to roll up and whack your dog next time it shits on the carpet.

 

On a recent trip to LA we had the pleasure of spending time with Ethan Wayne (John Wayne’s son). He took us out for a tour of the bay in his boat the Nordic. It’s a 56 foot 1972 Steel Pilot House Trawler designed by Edwin Monk bought from Jay Hilgren – a legendary cruiser in his own right.
